Yvonne is extremely proud of the Stanley area and has fond memories of living and working in the town. She feels that with a relatively small amount of investment the town can return to its former glory, and in particular focus on a more purposeful use of  the derelict buildings on the Front Street. 

Paul Fiddamen is Chief Executive of Karbon Homes. In his role he champions the people of the North East, and in particular his hometown of Stanley. Rachel grew up in Stanley and has fond memories of her childhood in and around the town. She still has family connections and she feels that the importance of community connections need to be celebrated in the town. In her role as career advisor in the school she is also delighted that bigger businesses are coming to the town and is keen to establish strong connections between the school, the community and businesses. 

Kelly has always lived and worked on the Stanley area, and is very proud to be from the town. She feels that there is lots of potential in the town, and to get the town back to where it once would not take a great deal of investment. She feels that using outdoor spaces to improve community cohesion would have a positive impact on the whole community, and in particular, the young people. 

Frank Matthews describes his working life at the steelworks and how useful the skills he developed at the Works were, when it came to finding work after the closure in 1980. Frank describes his adventurous working life abroad, but how Consett was always, and still is, in his heart.

Kieron Kelly, a fourth-generation resident of Consett, reflects on how life and opportunities in the town have changed since the closure of the steelworks. He also highlights the various volunteering and sporting opportunities available to children and young people in the area.
